I can relate to this, I live too close to the city to get a good view of the sky. Nice photo |

I certainly understand the sentiment, but my reaction to your photo is to say "switch the light off" because, for me, you haven't captured the external light pollution. |

I like the idea behind this, and the red lighting adds interest. Overall composition, though, needs some work. Different placement of the telescope, and sharper focus on it, would help. |

An astronomer's nightmare. Good example of lp. |

I like the concept for this photo. It could really turn into something great but the blurriness subtracts from it. Maybe cut out the structure all together and just shoot the telescope on the night sky/trees? |

I haven't been a big fan of the light pollution entries in this contest but you have a VALID point of view in representing light pollution and are not just using that as an excuse to shoot the skyline of a city. This is in the spirit of the challenge. Striking image. 8. |

I'm a big astronomy guy too. Nice shot, think it might be a little better if it didn't have the left hand tree blocking so much of the sky. |

Aww that sucks (the pollution not your photograph :D) I think black and red complement eachother well and the fading starry sky looks beautiful in the background. The telescope itself serves as a good leading line to the sky and pollution. The best light pollution I've seen so far so good job. |

I never realized this problem until I was in the rain forests of Central America and saw how bright the stars really are. As far as the photo, red light takes a bit away from the nice sillohuettes. Trees look great against the tones of the sky. Original idea for the theme. |

Yes city lights can be pollution. The telescope appears a little blured. |

Composition wise the trees are definitely unwanted but getting rid of them was not exactly not an option :D I think you've been slightly unsuccessful in getting the exposure just right.. The stars are good but the telescope obviously isn't in focus.. I think you should play around with more different lighting and dof's to see what fits you criteria best.. |

LX200? Nice roll-off shed.. that one tree there must be annoying when imaging. I did an LP entry too, I can see the glow in your pic although mine is worse :) |
