I'm one of those who LOVES stereo images, probably because I can easily free veiw them. While googling stereo images I came across a site that talked about how easy it was to make stereo images of clouds taken from an airplane window. So I thought to myself, 'self, you took tons of cloud images on your Maui trip last September, why not see if you can find a pair of suitable images?' So I did, and I did!
I've been playing with stereo images (both real and faked) for ages, but this clouds-from-airplane set is the best! And it is real :-) I almost always take 3 exposures of cloud shots so I can do HDR, so I had a set that was the right time apart and I just had to adjust them to make the exposures match.

Sweet! It took me a little longer than usual to "get" it, but it was worth it.
So did you just guess, or is there a an actual suggestion as to how much time between shots?

Nicely done! you definitely got the right separation between images. The dramatic vertical features really make this image interesting in 3D. I'm betting that it really pops at higher resolution!
I've done a number of stereo pairs from airliners as well. The results always seem to amaze me.
