thanks for the comments. basically i had 2 separately lit scenes. the scene reflected in the CD was lit separately from the speaker/microphone. i had to use my deepest dof to get everything in focus.

Technically great. Exposure, focus, composition are all excellent. I like the idea and the colors. Only nitpick is the double reflection on the corner of the guitar. The subject matter doesn't have a lot of emotional pull for me, but it's still interesting. ~indi

Wonderful shot. The composition works really well; I'm not sure if this counts, but the guitar stand spoils it a bit. But, it is part of the studio, so I'd guess that it doesn't. Because I'm a musician myself with a similar set of equipment, I have spent a little more time on this one ΓΆ€“ I've got a similar spec guitar I think, mine's an Ibanez Jem 77 Floral ΓΆ€“ because it interests me personally. Great shot (9)

If this one doesn't win this week, I'm just going to have to throw my hands up and say "I must jinx these poor people". (My favorites haven't been winning lately). Anyway, the reflection that you got off the CD is superb. I thought of doing something like that because the reflected colors are so cool, but knew I couldn't get it to do right for me. This is my 10 this week...hope it doesn't jinx you...and will be in my favorites at the end. Good luck

This is a neat shot. And I'm not sure if this is a case of reflection or refraction - but I will score it as reflection :) Maybe it's both... It seems to really follow the rule of thirds! You did a good job with the cd - it's noticeably the main subject, but doesn't detract from the item behind it... *Addition* This is definitely a case of reflection, and a great reflection at that! Great extended DOF, everything seems to be in great focus. The microphone at the top, is great filler... it covers up right where the guitar would go, causing a neat illusion. - 9 - JB

The clarity of this shot is what first really brings me into the image.... the feeling of multi dimension throughout the image works well. All i can say is great job the use of imagination runs rampant through out the image. My only question: is there a way to not have the cd seem so washed out? or is that just the way it has to be for the right amount of light to play on the disk.

The lighting is GREAT in this photo. So much in it that just gives it a studio type of effect. This works...it's just great ! Shiiizzzam

I like the concept, it just feels a little busy to me.
