Oh I thought this one was soooooooo good. I was kind of hoping this would finish higher. Perfect chaotic capture for the job that woman has. Great photo!

Oooo... how about the teacher? As Principals are never anyone's friends, are they? Anyway, I LOVE the blur and conversion. So innocent and emotive. Nicely done.

I think I would have liked this better in colour

I like this. Especially since the kids are blurred out from motion.

Very effective use of blur, and this is especially nice in B/W. Tells the story well. Good job.

Good-bye hopes and dreams! They're flying into the sky, never to return!

In scarbrd's portrait, I got the sense of a woman as a stable presence amid the chaos of children. Here, I see the principal remaining year after year as the children keep passing through. They go up up and away into their lives, taking their hopes and dreams with them.

I really like this picture. The movement from the children really makes this shot. And the banner just states pretty much what a principal does. Thanks for showcasing an often ignored profession. Especially one which is so powerful in launching the hopes and dreams of so many children. 10

Tremendous shot which really meets the challenge head on. More than just a good idea though, it has been executed wonderfully, from the great black and white conversion, to the way the principal is looking directly at camera, to the lovely motion blur of the students traipsing past

a wonderful 9

If you're inspiration for the photo was "the teacher" from the previous env. portrait challenge, then I would have to say there was a slight lack of creativity to the shot. On the other hand, if that's not the case, then I would have to say good work in creating an effective env. portrait. It's a nice shot regardless, of course.

Very nice idea and having the kids blurred. The bulletin board is also a nice touch as well. The black and white conversion works, but I'm guessing that the bulletin board is brightly colored and would have probably made the shot that much more interesting...5

Composition and exposure are excellent. Going grayscale with it seems to sap the life out of the image, though.

Very well done. Perfect for this challenge. When you score well with this one, I hope you credit scarbrd if that's where the inspiration for your shot is from.

It would have made this picture even better if I could have seen the kids not blurred.
