I guess you have separated us literal thinkers from those with imaginations. Sorry for being so dense. |

Thanks to all who commented on this photo. I probably made a mistake thinking "reflecting" instead of "reflection". The photo is of a rock formation that looks like George Washington looking up to the sky. Think of Mt. Rushmore turned sideways. Hopefully more of you will see him now. I think George had a lot to reflect on, don't you? |

Well, I like this shot, it's really clever, and the likeness to washington is amazing. I guess I don't understand how it's reflecting. I know there are full reflection shots this week, and "mental reflection" shots, so I assume there is some kind of reflection here, but I am not seeing it. Can't penalize you for my ignorance though, so here is what I think technically. The angle and framing/cropping are great, and the sky is just perfect. Ligjting conditions are really good for this shot. The colors are nice, and I really like the concept. Overall nice shot! Good luck in the challenge. ~Hbunch7187~ |

I've looked and looked and looked... but I don't see it...
LoL! As I type this my daughter (4) walks up and says "It's a big guy rock"... I guess it's there... You see it... she sees it... I'm the clueless one... I'm bumping your score up... |

I like your concept, what is George thinking of? |

You have to point him out to me. I'm not seeing George. -arnit |

?, I'm looking close but I don't see it. Is this a where's waldo picture with no waldo? Pretty none the less. I have to mark down for not meeting the challenge but I will keep looking until Sunday. You better not be pulling my leg. |

cherry tree? Dont get it. Sorry, I'm sure I'm not the only one though. Ive looked at your picture and I dont see George or a "reflection" no matter how you define reflection. It's challenges like these that allow you to see what the voter wants to see.. |

Thank you for not using water, sunglasses, or windows for your reflection. I was getting bored. |

i looked closely for two minutes and still couldn't figure it out. you've got that special genius that dooms you to be misunderstood by your peers. |

I've looked close and I can't see any evidence that any part of the image is a reflection.
You could possibly say that there is a figure in the rock formation on left hand side that appears to be looking left. I assume that you are meaning that this is George reflecting on some deep and meaningful thought. If so, good idea but it is a little too subtle and tenuous to be certain. Well, I'll go with that idea anyway 'cos I like it and its a pretty good picture either way. 6 |

I don't see George Washington in this. -But I do see an Easter Island Head, an indian head, a lady from athens greece head, a dog, and a gecko. 6 -Jubei |

Okay, I am probably an idiot, but I have looked close, and I can't see it. Photographically, this picture is awesome. the lighting is good, the exposure is fairly near perfect, etc. I just don't see any form of reflection. Sorry, especially if I am missing something obvious. karmat |

I've offered this to soo many others this week, you get it too. I'm sure you're right and George is in there somewhere, but I don't see it (limited imagination, I guess). I don't see figures in clouds, either, don't feel bad. If you would please explain this to me, I will gladly reconsider your score. It's a very nice pic of this rock formation! 6 Swash |

Meets the Challenge: No Artistic Merit (Would I print/frame/hang it?): 4 Creativity (Did a lot of thought go into this photo?): 5 Technical (Focus/DOF/Lighting/Etc): 5 Composition (Subject well-positioned and framed): 4 WOW Factor (Is the photo interesting?): 5
Score: 5 - 3 (not meeting challenge) = 2 - setzler |

Huh? Where? Maybe you should have cropped the photo to make it more obvious? |

I'm so bad at these things. I think I see it, but I also think I see one of those big heads on Easter Island, and maybe a bird about to take flight. |
|
|
09/30/2002 08:47:00 PM |
Nice picture, but if it needs the title to explain it, it really doesn't fit the challenge. |
|
|
09/30/2002 08:40:00 PM |
I have always had trouble seeing those things, so I'll take your word that George is in there. |
|
|
09/30/2002 07:40:00 PM |
I'm probably dense, but I don't see George Washington or his reflection. It maybe be very well hidden, but I tend to think that if I can't see what you're doing after a few minutes of scrutiny, it's too well hidden. |
|

I can look as close as I want... I simply don't get it... please explain it to me - Martina aka KAOS! At all a nice picture - but I'm still searching for the reflection... |

I keep going over this, I just don't know . . . I'll keep looking and maybe change my vote. |

That's a shadow, not a reflection |
|
|
09/30/2002 12:11:00 PM |
Nice clear picture, would prefer to actually see that it is a reflection. Not that I doubt you...I don't mean that, just that if the challenge is reflection, it would be nice to have that fact evident. Interesting subject, good coloring. Good luck in the challenge. Grayce aka Gracious |

Monday: I don't see it, I'll come back... Teusday: does the rock look like george, with his mouth open and a beaked nose? Whereid the reflection? Is it a full photo reflec. on water? turned around? Now it's Friday and I still don't see it - do we get a hint? |

Pretty shot, but I thought this challenge meant visual reflections. |

Neat rock formation...not reflecting off of anything, though. Took me awhile, but I did see George. Also see a bird looking up into the sky and a lizzard running down the side. |
