First submission. I've always loved Koolaid (tm). 4 packs of orange koolaid in about 8 ounces of water. A bit strong but pretty. I set up a white terry cloth towle as background and took several shots with different settings of me pouring koolaid into a spoon. I settled on the 55mm shot with 2 100watt lamps providing light and allowed for the feel of motion. Postproduction in PS-CS to correct lamp colors, crop and resize. I personally like the contrast of orange / black / white. I hope you agree. Comments are welcome.

This is a cool idea. I like the blur and motion in the drips above and below. The liquid rivulettes under the spoon are excellent. But like a lot of the other comments, I wish that the actual focus wasn't on the edge of the spoon, but more on the frothing Kool-Aidâ„¢ in the spoon itself. I like the vertical angle, personally, because it shows the interesting stuff happening on the bottom of the spoon. But maybe a different horizontal angle, where the handle of the spoon is coming toward or away from the camera would add some more interest to the composition? (6)

I didn't have time to comment a lot in this competition, but I really like this photo; the messiness is interesting, good idea and execution in my opinion! Hope you stick around and let us see more of your work. :)

This is really a messy photograph. The angle is a little odd, too. Perhaps it would improve if you showed the spoon from above. What is that anyhow, cough medicine?

It seems off that the focus is predominantly on the spoon & not the contents. More lighting toward the front or from under neath would have given it a bit more depth & showed detail of the drips on the bottom of the spoon.

this shot draws my attention, but would have been better if the orange liquid was in focus instead of the edge of the spoon

Beautifull shot, great idea but bad spoon.

Really cool idea. Unfortunately I don't really care for the look. Everything is blurred, except for the metal spoon, but I'd like to see more of the liquid than just the bottom of the spoon. I do like the action. Could you have gotten the background to be a more even white and perhaps brighter? Score: 4

Spoon is too centered. I would like to see the focus on the orange lump instead of the spoon edge.

motion is too blurry ... shorter exposure could have made this pretty good

The composition is not good for this shot. What is in focus? Do I see the liquid on the top? on the bottom......no, it's OOF. The color is good, but no focus.

I tried something similar but capturing the impact in sharp detail also proved very difficult

I would have liked the orange "stuff" in focus but that's just personal taste.

Interesting idea, but I don't understand the composition; let's say the title would save it a little bit, but... and the "orange" should be the clear, sharp subject, not the spoon (or whatever that is)
