Compositionally, the shot feels a touch static due to the centered composition and the fact that the little creatures face is square with the camera. A different angle, or maybe a weird/unbalanced crop would add a bit of interest. Instead of the wrinkled background, which actually kinda works here, a white background with those marks for signifying height could of been used.
Technically, I like the almost high key effect. Focus is good, and I like the slight bluish cast on it.
All that said, I've found that pictures of toys and little figurines typically don't do too well, for whatever reason. Maybe that turned some voters off, and the fact that it was a bit "unexpected" as a mugshot may have caused some to vote lower.
Personally, I think it is a bit too cute of a little guy to be a dnmc monster. :) |
