Perhaps a lower angle, like if you laying on the floor. Or even if you had oiled half and left the other half as is. Just a little something to add some pop.

I like the idea but it doesn't quite work for me ... there is something lacking in the photo, maybe it needs a larger area or just something else in the photo.

Nice pattern with good detail of the wood's pattern too. Nice line movement also.

This is a pattern, but it is a bit to ordinary. This is the same point of view that we are used to seeing when we look at the floor. One trick for shooting ordinary things is to shoot them from a point of view that we are not used to seeing. If you had pointed the camera straight down and really took the time to line up the lines on the floor with the frame, or got down on the floor and shot from a low angle, the photo would be much more engaging. IMO. Keep it up!
