This prickly pear cactus sure stands out against the darkness that surrounds it. It almost seems like some sort of strange fish swimming in the ocean. |

This is really cool; I've never seen one so close before. I think it turned out fine. From the thumbnail I thought it was a rotten tomato, something I'm very familiar with toward the end of summer when I'm sick of picking/eating tomatoes. |

No, don't say that - say you let the focus drift on purpose because it looks just fine - almost like a body part or something covered with tiny limpets - very odd and compelling image |

Light is just fine - nothing wrong with it at all - any brighter and you'd lose the richness of the color here. Focus is just fine, too - in fact it makes this all the more interesting. |

oh Roger waa waa! (whining, of which I am the queen!)
this is super
great DOF, colors and a lot of details & textures to keep the eyes busy and engaged
so cut it out! (the waa waa that is!) :)

Very interesting. The shape has given an odd focusing. The middle of the prickly pear is in focus, and then a little ways out from the middle there are small areas of focus in an arch that give way to the texture of the plant. |
