 I was driving up to town, when I came upon a group of chickens crossing the road. I clicked this guy through the windshield

I asked why he was crossing the road...

Thanks for the laugh, I'm guessing he was crossing so you could take his picture for a side challenge on DPC! I like how his colors make him stand out against the road and how he appears to be going downhill.

Well, obviously, you should have asked the ones on the other side! Nice candid shot (if you can be candid with roosters - perhaps not). He certainly has beautiful bright colors.

since making my last comment on this excellently coloured rooster i've had a look at it on greg's computer .. sheeeeeesh .. the damn rooster on the other side of the road isnt hiding at all .. (my monitor is very dark .. ).. which of course means that the answer should'v been obvious to everyone ... i spose they were all too well mannered to say .. :)
and trust greg to make a comment like that .. he should know after being with me that women are THE BEST drivers .. lol ..!!:)

Unusual situation to see them on the road.....
A get capture for the moment in time and being in the right place at the right time.....Roosters have the most amazing detail colors and textures.....

well talk about a half finished story .. like everyone else who's made a comment we're all wondering firstly if you actually got an answer and if you did wot it was ...
could it have been that he crossed the road to hook up with that other bird hiding so well in the underbrush !!..:)
