The alignment really adds to things. Kinda makes me think of duck bills.

I like the color cast or partial desat (can't tell which). I can feel the cold autumn air blowing through the grass.

This is very nice. I like how the lines in the background are going the other direction. I think it helps to focus on the pods.

Reminds me of the opening scene in Gladiator. I don't know why.

just beautiful! I love how the background stems are flowing in the opposite direction of the foreground pods, it really makes the foreground stand out to me! Fantastic color too, the pods almost look metallic.

Lisa, again, this is so artsy and cool looking. I never realized how stunning photography of dead -- or dying things -- could be so amazing. It makes me want to go out and find something dead to try to emulate your art :)

Very nice - the dof is perfect in this one - the world seems to be rushing in the opposite direction

What a great structure you've found. It almost reminds me of street lights all in a row. That juxtaposition really adds to the strength of your art piece.

the counterbalance of the subject against the background works so well! there is so much movement here, yet there is also a peaaceful still

The focus and DOF here are perfect! I really love the duotone feel to this too.

You really captured some amazing amount of harshness here. Stunning against the background. Lovely contrasts.

An excellent study in opposition - the foreground seedheads are strong, resisting the wind, while the grasses behind are blowing with it. Makes for a lovely shot!

Great textures and even patterns going on here. I'd be curious to know how you achieved those tones -- they're very nice!

I really like the focus on the foreground grass and how it seems to be blowing in one directions and the background grass is blowing in the other directions. All combined together makes for an interesting photo. Great choice of tones.

Soon as this opened up, I got the feeling it's windy!
The pods have opened and the wind has scattered the seed, ready to germinate with the impending winter rains...

Great colours in this Lisa. The pods look like they are talking to each other.

Waving "goodbye" to the kids as they drift off to their new lives. Love it. Dead or alive - again we see the dead, and surmise the alive. Good stuff!

Love the processing...really makes it stand out. The contrast between the direction of the dead vs. the alive in the image speaks volumes. :)

I love the sharp focus on the subject, with the sensation of motion in the background. The color tones are perfect.

something dead totally brought to life lisa ... a beautiful image taken with your 100mm .. love your process .. love the details and the blur .. those pods look like some strange alien creature with it's mouths wide open .. probably expecting some morsel from its mother .. lol ..:)

Very strong sculptural qualities in this one. I also like the way the DOF background, is on the diagonal, due to the swaying grasses/reeds.
I love the color tone you have here, as it shows up the textures and detail really well.....
