Lisa, I've been watching your series here with great interest because you're taking simple things and making them into art, and this is no exception. At lunch I went out with the intent to do something similar but they did a controlled burn and most of the stuff like this is gone. But I'll keep trying! |

Nice trio of colours, the selective focus I think helps avoid cluttering the frame with too much detail. |

I love the little seeds falling out of the pods, and neat composition with the dark and light. I'm glad I don't have allergies, I'd be sneezing right about now :-) |

Sweet gum balls...they are everywhere in my MIL's yard. Such a neat idea for photos. I never thought to photograph them! :) |

Oooooh. . .I love how that sharp prickly thing pokes its glorious head in front of the soft blurry ones. It is such an interesting composition!

I love the way they look so dead, yet they've dropped their seeds. Awesome textures!!
ETA I must play round with my 50mm 1.8 more, I love the dof you've used here.

interesting you used your 50mm f1.8 for this .. looks like a very versatile lens .. brilliant close-up too .. love the detail and particularly love the curves and different shapes ..:) |
