Thanks for the encouraging words. I really appreciate it! This is a chihuahua. She's about 4lbs maybe 6 in" tall by maybe a foot long. She's a show breed, so smaller than most chihuahuas. The angle of the camer is about a foot and a half to two feet from the ground. I received some comments on how clean the trash was. This is an actual trash can next to my computer. Its where all my printed trash goes, along with my dryer sheets from laundy. My dog loves those laundry fabric softner sheets and its what she was after. |

Might be a cute pet picture, but it doesn't really do much for me beyond that. Nothing about it draws me in. 3 |

cute little doggy, unfortunately black fur can sometimes be hard to photograph. I think for the most part though, you have done a good joby by putting him in white surroundings. I feel that his eyes should stand out more from his fur, and I'm not sure how to accomplish this. nice shot though! Good luck in the challenge. ~Hbunch7187~ |

Put your title into a "thought bubble" (like in comics) in the upper right and this would make a great postcard. |

Very cute dog!...I just love them doggies. I've always had problems with "eye glow" when I photograph my dogs. As far as the challenge goes, the only critique that I have is that my dogs wouldn't be interested in getting into trash this clean. Obviously, this was a set-up...Ru-Oh LOL |

This looks too posed. The dog should have been looking into the bin, not at the camera. |

I love the expression on the dogs face - and don't they just love binsâ€Â¦ It looks to me like you have used a sheet as a backdrop to mask objects or patterns that might impede the image; this is a good idea, but I find the crease lines draw the eye away from the subject almost as badly as clutter. Also, personally, I'd have tried to keep the tail in shot. Finally, the angle of the shot is the same angle that most of us would view a dog from, and therefore, it doesn't add to the shot. Lying on the floor – at the animals level, can produce all sorts of interesting (and often amusing) results. From that tirade of moans, you'd think I didn't like the shot; on the contrary, I like the shot quite a bit; the exposure works really well and the use of all neutral colours maintains a solid balance that is almost sufficient to block all of the negative points I've madeâ€Â¦ (8) No creases – I'd have scored the maxâ€Â¦ Keep shootingâ€Â¦ |

What a cutie-pie!! He's obviously innocent! And his expression says, "Leave me alone, I'm busy here." |

This is not a bad shot. I would not use the white floor and background. The dog is looking at the camera. Try adding food to the paper or in the basket. the dog might look at the basket or stick his head in. This looks like it should be natural, not pose. The art is posing a shot and not making it look like it is posed or making people not care that it is. It is simple but not easy. good luck -milton

Awwwww! Did he really do that, or did you stage him? He's so cute! The exposure on your dog is a little dark; try experimenting with different apertures and shutter speeds to capture more detail. |

sorry. but this one looks poorly staged to me. you could of tried to capture it naturally, unfortunately the dog, instead of looking like its just been caught in the act of going through a bin (of white paper no less) looks somewhat bewildered by the events and the plain paper in the bin just looks so un-natural.. Dont give up though.. 3 |

This picture is far too staged to be considered proper garbage.. The white sheet and blank paper really dont do this shot any justice.. a more natural 'candid' shot would of scored higher.. 4 |

He (?) certainly looks guilty! Tough getting that black on white but I wish I could see a little more detail on the pup. DPz |
