Wow ! I didn't expect to get 4th place with this. I mean the tape is visible :)

I'll add more details later on how I took it and a behind the scenes photo of the shot.

Thanks for all the comments and looking :)

Below is the jpeg that came out of the camera. I adjusted the curves a bit to lighten the image to make the left tape less visible. Two desk lamps on the left, I'm not sure if they made any difference actually and SB800 pointing towards the paper behind the bottle.

You can see some of the flash is wasted on the right side, I should've pointed it bit more to the left, that could make the left tape invisible as well, but the water everywhere and the tape sticking to everything was starting to get on my nerves :)

Taken with the remote on 2 sec. timer, so I pressed the remote, grabbed the tapes, started pouring and I had some water in the glass by the time shutter fired.

I liked the effect of the tilt but the main reason behind the tilt was that less of the left tape would be in the frame, as I couldn't clone it out.

Thanks everyone!

Very cool shot! Now, if you could only get some fingerprints on the bottle and the glass... whoa!!! think about how cool would that be!!!

That would suck if you could only pour it via telekinesis; you'd still have to go get it.

;D

You can see the plastic holding it up. But good idea and nice contrast. Next time use photoshop.

great effect- (high score) ;) i puzzle over what that is at the neck of the botle and am guessing its part of how you did this image? :) great idea :) I like the blue-bottle and white glass/background- it seems so illuminated and rather mystical in a way :) great job! :)

This is an interesting picture bit the angle is a little off and the clear (tape) at the neck of the bottle can be seen.

The picture is very sharply in focus, but would have been better against a darker background.

Love the way you controlled the light here. Really nice work. I'm sire you would have taken care of the tape is this weren't a basic editing challenge, so I'm not counting off for it.

I swear I see tape around the neck. Also would be more believable if the water in the cup was level.

Very nice initial reaction. Loses a little when you see the tape and the fact that the floating glass is just a tilt. My top pick

With the help of a little cellophane around the neck. ;-) Too bad it's basic editing. Nice effect and nicely framed.

I bet you wish you could do spot editing on the tape that shows on the neck of the bottle. :D I really like this photograph though, the cropping and lighting look excellent. and i really like the color of the bottle, and how it is highlighted by the white of everything else. Good concept.

Nice image - Like the lighting a lot but alas we can see the tape which then takes the whole illusion out of the whole thing

This is going to bug me now - how did you do that?

It feels a bit tight compositionally - perhaps a looser crop?

This would be a cool photo if you couldnt see the tape holding up the bottle lol

Nice job concealing the suspension. Particularly impressive given the basic editing limitations! You must have been very patient getting this set up just right. Congratulations.

I assume your monitor is set so bright that you can't see the tape. Unfortunately, I can :-(
Still a nice idea, though, and I appreciate the effort.

If you were allowed to edit out all the tape that would be a very cool picture. Very crisp.

That's the kind of superhuman ability we all dream of having! ...well except I'd be pouring a beer. :)
