A Very Short Song

Once, when I was young and true,
Someone left me sad-
Broke my brittle heart in two;
And that is very bad.

Love is for unlucky folk,
Love is but a curse.
Once there was a heart I broke;
And that, I think, is worse.

The picture and text create a lot of emotion. I like the frame but would have liked to see more of your subject.

Lots of emotion captured without needing any eye contact.

Like the texture and frame - subject matter looks almost painted/hand drawm. Nice.

You've put this together so well. The border and the overlay really compliment the image.

Beautiful work, Alicia! Works extremely well with the poem!
The heavy border adds a certain weight to the image! : )

Like a window into her life. I like the layering effect. Different and very effective.

ps .. wot is particularly appealing to me is the way you've created that very large border .. it seems like we're looking at her thru a window .. possibly in one of those very old buildings in a village in italy or tuscany or something ... i've never been there, but its wot came to mind ..
the old stone building feeling .. the woman .. even in her modern attire she still seems to have an old fashioned quality about her .. possibly the hair .. and even with those modern signs, this entire image has that 'back in time' feel .. obviously your processing, with the border and the overlay .. bloody brilliant .. :)x.
anyhooooooo .. just thought i'd 'voice' wot i was thinking .. :)
