nearly a year since this first graced dpc ..
and i never saw it .. !!
i noticed it in pik your fav pic very large and couldnt click on it to make a comment so i had to come all the way to your portfolio so i could .. !!..:)
ITS BRILLIANT ..!!
an amazing photograph and so incredibly stunning ..
i keep looking at it ... it couldnt be any more perfect ..
the incredible sharpness just where it matters ..
the beautiful beautiful soft bokeh ..
the fantastic feathers so sharp and clear ..
that top knot .. WOW ..
about that glamour glow .. its addictive .. lol !!..:)

Such a beautiful photo, Ken. Though you scored well, I feel it really would have deserved quite a bit more.
ETA - I just saw the comment: oversharpened and washed out. Hahahahahaha! That's funny. :o)

While the preeening is an interesting pose, it is a little awkward from a composition perpective. The necks leads away and then back to the body, which lead the viewer in a cicle rather than a clear direction. |

A lot of nature photography on this site seems to fall down when the subject is simply snapped as is and is left with too much work to do to hold the viewer's attention. Not here. So much going on but such a simple composition. 10. |
