| Score is probably based on a couple of things - the composition is a bit "heavy" - not quite on the dreaded rule of thirds, not quite a close enough closeup. A little more room to the left might balance a bit better. Whites are a bit blown in places - for some reason, DPC voters really don't like their whites blown. The shadow down the chest probably bothered some as well. It's a good solid shot of a bird, but not something that will "wow" the DPC voter in a Free Study. Hope this helps! |

| Nice and clear. A bit of a shadow showing on the front of his chest, but it doesn't detract much. |
