trains are fun. I do find I can get myself in trouble though as I like to get close up and shoot odd angles, something the train yards do not like.
The image here has good focus and color, but would be more dramatic by shooting an angled perspective. |

Locomotives are always eye-catching, & difficult to shoot. So big, so many dark shadows. I like the patina of age on the locomotive. It might be fun to try another shoot, but they probably won't let strangers into the train-yard. |

I like the contrast between the old, rusted engine and the black tanker car. Good job on exposure and colors.
As far as composition, I'd suggest a couple of tings. Even though your horizon is level in the foreground, the trains appear to be going uphill. While I like that blue sky, I'm thinking a wider crop would work well with your subjects.
Speaking of the subjects, that rusted engine would make a great subject on its own. That's the kind of thing to walk around (safely of course) and take pictures from different angles and see what comes out. |

The combination of the newly painted tanker to the rusted locomotive provides a nice contrast. Consider using the track lines to somehow help bring the viewer's eye to an object of interest instead of just cutting across the photo. My personal impression is that the near track is taking my focus right off of the edge of the photo. |

These trains have some beautiful personality and I like the contrast between the rusty and the black one. My only thought would be a different angle. If you could have gotten up on the tracks and a little more up close to them so they filled the frame, maybe with some track lines leading up to them. |

Good looking shot, everybody loves trains. Good exposure and well focused. The only thing that irks me is the slight slant the image has leaning toward the right. |

I like the balance between old and new, the older train being all rusty and the new train being nicely painted offeset each other really well. I like the colors and the tones that are brought out in the photo as well. |

Nice shot, I like the black of the container vs the brown (rust!) of the engine vs the greens of the trees ... basically I like the colours!!! |
