 This little giggle box is named Destiny. She is 7 1/2 months old and is an absolute dream baby. She has been in our center for about six weeks now and I have YET to hear her cry one time!

Destiny is being raised by her father. He is a senior and is going to graduate in four weeks. When Destiny's mother found out she was pregnant, her daddy married her mother and went to work to help take care of them. A few months ago, her mother succumbed to the pressures of teen parenting and left the family, leaving her daddy to raise her alone. He is an awesome young man and is an incredible father. I have seen him just sit and talk to Destiny...read books to her...come out in between classes to check on her. He ran out one day because he forgot to leave her some Orajel for her little gums and he knew she was teething and didn't want her to be uncomfortable. He is always polite, respectful, and cheerful when he talks to anyone in our center, and has never failed to say "thank you" to our bus driver every time she drops them off at their house in the afternoon.

Destiny is definitely a face of hope in more ways than one. This little girl has a wonderful future ahead of her, with the love and guidance her father will undoubtedly provide.

this man sounds like one of the people who are definalty doing the right thing in the world today, not giving in to the normal society's reaction, he really is mature and strong. Great little baby too, she is so sweet!

When I saw this one it made me smile. She looks so happy and that has to be because she has a yound wonderful father who is willing to take on the big responsibility of raising a child. Thank you for sharing the story of hope.

That is definitely a face and story of hope. She is indeed a fortunate young lady to have a dad that loves her enough to dedicate his life to her at his tender young age. Nice job of capturing her spirit.

Laurie! Now, you got my eyes spilling tears at my desk today. Sniffle sniffle. What a beautiful story. I am going to pray for this young daddy, and from what you say, this is one lucky little girl. If you have the love and adoration of your daddy, you really don't need alot of much else to grow up with a healthy self esteem. My guess (and prayer) is that some woman worthy of being Destiny's "real" mom will see what kind of man her daddy is and fall head over heals for him, and end up living happily ever after. Yes. . .that IS the face of hope!

What a nice story, she is such a cutey... Daddy sounds like a great guy and I wish them both luck.

The colors in the skin and the tones are beautiful. Great smile on the face, Very pretty eyes! (I did notice more than 1 catchlight in the eye, how were you lighting it??) You can just feel the sweetness and energy comming right from the photo. Great start Laurie.

Always avoided commenting on baby shots as have not really sure what to say, so here goes .... her eyes are great, the expression is obviously great and the colours of the chair really add to the overall "happy smiley" shot
