Muffled -- it remits surmise --
Murmured -- it has ceased --
Dungeoned in the Human Breast
Doubtless secrets lie --
But that Grate inviolate --
Goes nor comes away
Nothing with a Tongue or Ear --
Secrets stapled there
Will emerge but once -- and dumb --

Nice work with the overlay. I didn't get the sense that they were communicating though, more like two ships passing in the night

Beautiful rendition of days gone by Alicia. Overlay gives an almost voyeuristic look as if someone is hiding outside behind the window trying to listen to the conversation.

Two young women wearing men's white shirts & neckties--they could only be "waitpeople." The overlay creates an old-timey feeling that goes well with Emily Dickinson.

All I can say is that when I looked at the image, the first thing I thought (before scrolling to the title) was that they were sharing a secret. Obviously you picked the right image for the story.

Love the pic. There is something so... elitism about secrets though. Love them, don't get me wrong, but it is perfect that this idea is coming through from wait staff (hey! I waited on tables through college, and if you consider what I do today, NOTHING has changed!! LOL)

hehehe looking at their outfits, I am guessing they're waitressing or bartending and are saying "aye! el cabron an la mesa 3'o es un pendejo, pero es muy generoso con sus propinas!" or some such drivel...man I think I need another cup of coffee

:) the overlay gives this a really great feel, I went into Spanish b/c for some reason I get a feel of old time Cuba from this...I must have recently had something go into my subconscious that this image tickled..
