 Whenever I see this I think of a space ship in some various (insert your title here) space movie. I chose this one because of the background effect the DOF had.

Hint: I just took this at my desk

Yes it is a three sided ruler. :) The green, red, and black are actually on the ruler and not something I did in ps. :)

It does look like a space ship! I've never thought of looking at the 3 sided ruler like that.

i've never seen a threesided ruler, thats something new for me! nice DOF, and its tack=sharp, perfect for a ruler. nice job.

This is a multiple scale rule used by draftspersons or architects. I have several although I think mine are not in as good a shape as this one. Nice positioning in the frame.

I think its a 3 sided ruler too! nice DOF as it makes the photo a puzzle..and I love puzzles!

Three sided ruler! But it took me a minute to get it. Cool shot with the end highlighted against the gray, and the colored ribs are a nice touch.

I guess I am the only one who saw a spear head from this image. The bottom rut appeared to be a wooden peg (to which the spearhead would be attached) when I first saw it.

Oooooh, what a fun month this will be with your macros and artistic renditions :) Yes. This does look very other worldy. And it looks like a light. But I can't figure out exactly what it is. . .but that's what half the beauty of it is. The mystery :)
