This was a spoof on the Zen and The Art of Motorcycle Repair book. To underscore the garbage/recycle theme I set it up on top of the recycle bin, turned upside down. In my mind, there's something zen-like to those two simple, clean empty cans as opposed to tons of filthy garbage overflowing a trashcan or a dumpster. The essence of zen is not about practicing meditation endless hours a day but perhaps to work with it in your everyday living. So, I try to exercise restraint in the amount of garbage I generate. This picture was an attempt to reflect something, just a little something, of myself in a very uninteresting challenge about garbage. |

I don't see any connection between the subjects. Whatever inspired you to put empty cans and a zen meditation book together needed to be much more clear in your picture. 2 |

Nice concept and composition. Well executed, and good colors. I'm not usually too fond of using another's artwork, as in the zen book, but it's nice anyway. Grayce |
