 Thank you for your comments all. Heh, yes the horse does look a bit anorexic. I think by boosting the contrasts the bits of him in shadow disappeared... exaggerating his "Slimness". This was actually at a fund raiser for horses. Unfortunately when some aren't useful anymore they are shipped to Italy from Patra Greece in squalid conditions and made into sausages. I was invited to the event and what I found ironic, macabre and made me laugh a sort of nervous laughter, I'm afraid to admit, was that the fund raiser was a barbecue...

This has a simplicity that suggests the tones of a charcoal drawing. It's a very artistic approach to get the finished image to look so very nice.
