 This is a self portrait. I wanted to take a similar shot for the Sepia challenge but never got round to it. Living in the Italian "city of bicycles", Ferrara, I felt it would be bordering rude not to enter this week. Thanks to Jack for being my shutter monkey! This is taken on the same road as this ->, and I'm sure it wont be the last one I take down there.

Lighting is all natural - face lit with a lighter, there is a street lamp just above my head.

PP. RAW convert using Silkypix (a great piece of software), neat image. In Photoshop resize, USM, border and save for web.

p.s Mum I don't smoke, it's for dramatic effect!

I agree with you raish - but when it comes to DPC eye contact buys you about a point every time. If I shot this again for 1ex I'd definitely avoid it. Photography is a funny old game.

I really like this shot for the atmosphere that goes around. The warm light is perfect and you can see a story inside it. Well done!

Opss...now i see this was taken in Ferrara, a really pretty italian city, not far from where i live. Ciao :)

Excellent composition and lines drawn in this photo.... Would've been a good candidate for the triangle composition as well. I love the triangle drawn to my eye from the archways, to the bicycle tire, to the subjects face.

Great shot. Only recommendation is to sharpen it up a bit more. But that could be because of the kb limit.

Either way, best in the challenge.

This picture is very sketch and the natural sepia makes the picture very strong. IT has a very good range of values.

I'm not a big fan of sepia, but the look really did this one nicely. I'll be surprised if this is not in front of the pack peloton for this challenge. Oh, and a fave.

Great alley and bike. I like the way the light from your lighter serves as a continuation of the street lights further down the alley.

This has a super "posed" vibe to it which is giving me that "eh" feeling. Other than that It's well done though I'm not too crazy about the heavy toning. Other than that...This Could Ribbon! Cheers and good luck.
