I had a lovely flower shot I was thinking of using, but my flowers have not fared well lately so I decided to take a shot I've been meaning to take for awhile.
These are some of the birds who hang out at the local gas station and I always think of The Birds when I see them gather. Conveniently, a bunch more showed up today as I was shooting so I got some flying as well as lined up on the wires. I purposefully shot a little off-kilter and then processed for a somewhat brooding and chaotic look, in keeping with the actual movie. Kept the tree in the shot because there could be more of them in the darkness of the tree.
Went by a few hours later and there were NO birds there. Spooky.
PP - converted from RAW, cropped, levels, increased contrast, shifted green hue to blue, increased saturation, white balance shift to more blue/purple, increased contrast again and reduced gamma to darken, added border, resized. Didn't sharpen because it was impossible to avoid haloes and jaggies! |

Strikes me as a too-dark snapshot. Perhaps if you could zoom in on a couple of birds a bit, to get some detail that might have worked well. Spread wings are always cool looking. |

Crazy movie. And I see this all the time and think of the movie. :) |

The dark birds and bright clouds really give this an ominous feel :o) Great job! |

strange angle on the pole, seems a bit tipped over. that throws me off and makes me notice the rest of the image less. the power lines are a distraction as well |
