 One of a long row of rowing boats on the River Wear, Durham. RAW conversion, monochrome conversion through channel mixer, overlay layer, smart sharpen, levels, some dodge and burn, resize, duotone. I also cloned out some small bits of dirt on the ground.

I really wish that I could be happy with my first edit - this is number seven and it's taken me ages!


POST-CHALLENGE:

Really pleased with the 6.5 score and a new PB - I wasn't expecting this to do that well at all. Thanks very much to everyone for the great comments.

This fully deserves the score it got - shame it didn't finish higher but that's high scoring challenges for you :-(

I particularly like the monochrome feel, the DOF, the detail on the ropes and chains on the right, the weathered flaky paint, and the patterns on the top. Great work!

Nice lines and pattern. Good move with the B&W. Only suggestion maybe to cropped a bit less to show more of the pattern of boat ends...IMHO/7

The blur in the bottom front is very distracting. I like the POV though.

The forefront is a bit distracting with the OOF chains but I love the progression/line up of boats you've captured!
