You can see the Star of India and the Master and Commander ship on the left. I thought they had been done to death, so I'm doing this ship that was open for public tour this weekend. I took a number of on-board shots, but thought this was best. I also tried a number of San Diego Bay shots with ships and the city in the background.

(Post) Thanks everyone for helping put this on my profile front page! I kept waiting for someone to say "The USS Constitution (Old Ironsides) is a commissioned ship". Yes, I've been on it, but it's not an actively sailing square rigged ship. I think it goes into Boston harbor once or twice a year. This ship sails around the world. It just came from Mazatlan going through high seas. It's a recruit training ship. One of the recruits was talking about being up in a crow's nest in high seas and being tilted out over the water. Scary stuff.

Nice angle to show both the figurehead (a rare non-female fidure at that) and the archaic rigging, with a handly leading line front and center. I've known about this ship for a long time, but I don't think I've ever seen any kind of a close-up until now.

Very nice. Good POV that does the best yet with a moored vessel, which are really very unphotogenic.

What a majestic ship! Only wish the front wasn't cut off.

Hey I've seen that boat! It was here in Newfoundland a couple of years ago. Great ship. I like the clarity of your shot, good colours. Here's a pic I took of it:

Great effect with the shore lines and the rigging...
