| A bit of a stretch for this challenge however on an unrelated note I am glad to see him wearing darkened eye protection after the reports I've read of long term eye damage from glass work due to IR. I don't think this meets the challenge however lets look at it anyway... nice job on the lighting, the flame is very clear, the glass is brilliant looking. Over all seems a little soft, especially at the top, could be a motion blur as I don't know what shutter speed you needed to capture the flame like that. Still a nice image regardless. |

| It's a stretch to consider safety glasses a mask. In any event, the focal point here is the actin of the glassworking rather than the mask. I wouldn't go so far as to say it doesn't meet the challenge, but a different angle/perspective might have made it more a more interesting shot. For example, looking from underneath the flame up towards the face for a tighter composition including both elements. |

| the background is a little distracting, maybe if you kept the flame and glass in color and the rest in black and white it might have been less distracting... |

now if you could have got him holding that hot blue glass up near his face, with his blue bandanna, and that blue flame, and a simple uncluttered background . . it could have been a winner. As it is this is a nice shot and a very valid interpretation, but I suspect too 'busy' for most voters.
