Was starting to get frustrated today as none of my ideas were panning out. The shot was very difficult to light due to the metallics everywhere (hints greatly appreciated.)

Photoshop was another more intesive than I'm use to effort. Convert form raw, levels, curves, black and white (20 % opacity so I could use color channels to draw out the grain on the headstock), cloning out some inferfections, dodging and burning for glare/shadow issues, resize, usm, save for web. Again, I think that is all.

This time I'll post the original also to see if anyone has any other suggestions. Thanks.

Nice composition. Sorry I can't give you any great pointers on lighting, because I'm not real good at it myself, but it kind of looks like you were using one main light source and focused it on the headstock/fret board. Maybe if you moved your light source back farther and lit up the whole thing it might make a difference?

Nice shot, I find myself wishing I could see a little bit more, especially with the top of the guitar, I'm looking for the tip of it, maybe including that and a little bit more space to the left of "marshall" could add a lot.

Though I understand your wanting to get the grain - it is nice! - I like the original for its greater pop. As well, the wide angle detracts from the straight lines which seem to me to constitute the bones of this composition. (My opinion - aesthetic rather than technical).

I don't see any major flaws here. The composition is strong, lighting good, and focus sharp.

I think you really nailed the composition on this one. Bravo! All I have is nits
- Lower guitar half an inch and to the left to see the whole power switch
- Widen crop a smidge to see the whole treble knob
