Ahh yes, Coccinellidae. Great late afternoon shot, love the lighting at this time.
Since his face is not well lit, therefore keeping me from focusing on it, my eyes tend to want to focus on the upper region just above his head. I guess what I'm saying is I would've preferred a lower angle to this shot.
I have to ask, was it red or orange? Is the orange tint because of the sun at that time of day? Why do I ask? I took this in March and was told it wasn't a Ladybug. If you want, read Caroline's comment in the pic below, she explains it all.

Dof is great, there is something I'm not quite sure about though .. the extreme lighting doesn't quite work for me, I find my eye moving from left to right and almost missing the bug ... I also thing the bug on a similar coloured flower stops it from standing out as much as it could |

WOW..... I really like this one, and yes, I have a macro shot of a Lady Bird and will post it later in the month. I just love the lady bird little face. It is a shame that the shadow falls across the flower bulb, as one cannot quite see it clearly, but I love the lady bird. |
