I was trying another isolation by aperture shot. I really like the shallow angle looking up the guitar. I also found that the off centerness of the shot made it more interesting to look at, at least for me.

Photoshop was resize, usm, background copy for cloning out some dust and other speckles, curves, selective color to remove the yellow from the binding and boost the red, and an 18% opacity black and white layer on the chrome parts. Oh, then save for web.

Here is the original.

Oh, and this is my Samick Greg Bennett Series semi-hollow. I love the tone on this guitar, silky smooth.

Great job with the dof, it really helps to bring out the bridge.

DOF is great here and the guitar has good sharpness. Nice shot.

I'm such a sucker for a guitar, having musicians in my family. Love the DOF.

Very nice. I think you nailed the crop/framing perfectly with the cutout in upper left and bridge in lower right. The narrow DOF works really well with the angle you have chosen. I see you used f1.8, I have to get me one of those!

I like this. It's got a fairly narrow DOF, but it serves to help lead the eye to the part of the subject you want us looking at. I also really like the reddish brown tones of the wood.
