Hard to fit this into a "portrait" per say, as it's a candid moment really and really should have some facial recognition to put character into this shot. |

IMO you need to decide wether you want things to get in the frame or not, like the man on the right (I assume from your title that you wanted him in the frame). maybe this should have taken for the 'indecisive' challenge. kidding. |

Lots of interesting action and details, but not quite what I would expect from a portrait. |

Slightly different angle on the horse would have been a little more appealing to the eye. |

The subject could make for a good environmental portrait, but unfortunately your subject seems to be the horse's... tail. |

nice environmental portrait style. I wish I could see more of the guy at the anvil and the horse's rear end not so centered and right towards me (its the first thing i see) |
