This is far too harsh and the shadows are hurting this a lot.
Any picture is better than no picture when it comes to preserving the moment, but the harshness and lack of happiness doesn't make this a very good portrait in terms of a competition. |

| The light is too harsh, and the shadows too deep for two ladies that deserve flattery. Move them away from the backdrop, and use a longer focal length, and the light won't be as harsh. |

| I like the pose, but I find the harsh processing (over-sharpening?) unattractive. Also their make up is distracting -- mother's worn off lipstick, daughter's harsh streak of blush and the gloppy mascara. |

pretty harsh flash
this doesn't give the most flattering light but you may be going for a particular 'look' |

| They look almost like twin sisters. Good expressions and framing. Flash lighting is a bit harsh (i.e. bright spots on faces and dark shadows on the wall). |
