Excellent timing! The reflection makes the shot here for me. I agree with  MaryO about the crop. It looks good like this too, because it shows enough of the environment to see that this is a bird in the wild. |

| The shape of the heron and the color of the water are just wonderful! I would actually crop tighter to get rid of the foliage (make the image taller than it is wide), increase the contrast and/or burn the bird a little to darken him, as he looks a little paler than he should. Mind you, I'm only mentioning these things because this has so much going for it and a few little edits would push it into the splendid category, IMO. You got the moment and that's the critical bit! |
