I think this little baby grasshopper meets the challenge in a humorous way. Voters' views may vary.
I originally found this guy living in a clump of daylilies, and he was there several days in a row for my photographing pleasure. But I usually found him in shadow (afternoon or later) and I couldn't figure out a way to connect this adorable baby to a virtue or a sin on a daylily. Maybe little guy being brave in a big world, but it was a very pretty world and I wasn't sure that would fly.
So I went out this morning (better light on him) and found not a single flower open on "his" clump. He was wandering around on a bud, probably wondering where all his safe hiding places had disappeared to.
On the other side of the house I have Coneflowers blooming in abundance, which would not only provide him with easy access to leaves for food but have these nice spikey bits that would look like he was walking on a bed of nails, which is brave, right? I clearly thought so ;-) I transported him across the yard and the rest is (fairly unremakable) history.
Looking at it now I'd like a little more DOF, but my little subject has long since vanished into the depths of the Coneflower patch.

| For some reason the grasshopper is not the first thing you see when looking at the image ΓΆ€“ maybe tighter crop would have worked better here ΓΆ€“ just my opinion. |
