Way more editing than I normally do, which is why this isn't entered in a challenge.

Germany is very "green" - recycling is mandatory (and easy to do) and with the price of gas twice that in the US (and you guys complain!), cars are small and alternate forms of transportation are used regularly - buses, trains, bikes. On Sunday afternoons, the vineyard trails and bike paths are far more crowded than the roads. This was taken on a Monday evening - lovely weather, lots of folks out. This family of five was waiting (with about 20 other cyclists behind me) for the trains to pass so they could cross.

Oh - I don't have LucisArt or whatever it is, so this was done using Photoshop and the "Find edges" filter

Find edges filter - hmmm is that an add-in? I kind of like the processing on this. I don't like what it did to the sky part but the people look pretty cool.

I like the idea, but I'm not sure how I feel about the processing. The scene may be too busy to benefit from "find edges" processing. I do like the effect on the sign and light, even the grass and pavement, but on the finer detail of the family and the bikes, it's a bit noisy (for lack of a better word) and harder to read. Maybe if they were a bit closer in the frame.

I do like the colors (was that the filter?) and admire your adventurous sprit -- I'm just now starting to get a bit more brave in my processing. I like the message too. And, yes, (we) Americans are energy hogs.
