 This is our cabin. We've been spending the last few days trying to clean it up and doing inventory for the insurance. Hopefully the river won't flood for awhile, it's not so fun!
eta: Thanks for the comments! This wasn't the first flood and probably won't be the last that this cabin has seen! It was definitely built to last, it's been there for about 75 years now. I'll have to try and dig out some old photos of it, it used to be the tallest cabin on the island! When we were kids everyone used to walk underneath it. Over the years and all of the floods, the silt just kind of "shrunk" the place!

Wow, I can't imagine going through a flood. It must be a tremendous amount of work to get everything back in order and then have to do it all over again.

This shot shows what a huge flood event you had at this location. Clean up is a job that I don't envy even a little bit in this case. At least this was not your primary residence. It is good that the place is still standing after all that water washing around it. The cross bracing in the foundation pilings may be what saved it from being washed down stream. I hope that things return to normal soon for all of you.

sheeeeesh .. i can see where the water rose to .. i've never even been in a flood but i've heard its the worst to clean up .. it totally destroys everything .. sorry you've got this on your plate .. :)
