For a free study this shot probably doesn't have the WOW factor which you so need to score well. However, I think the concept is good and hope you get chance to replicate the idea in another challenge. I think yospiff nailed it with the processing he has done. I bet you would have achieved a slightly higher score on this with better editing.

I think the biggest problem is that it is way too dark. It has a lot of nice detail hiding in the shadows. I did a quick edit on it to see what I could bring out of it. Editing steps are in the image comments. I may have brightened it up a little too much. Hope this helps some.
