Cook Time: 10 minutes
Ingredients:
1 pound medium or firm tofu
3 - 4 tablespoons cornstarch or flour, as needed
Oil for deep frying, as needed
Preparation:
Directions for Deep fried Tofu:

Drain the tofu.
Cut the tofu into 4 large triangles or cubes as desired.
Roll the tofu in the cornstarch or flour.
Heat wok and add oil for deep frying. When the oil is heated to at least 350 degrees F., carefully add 2 tofu pieces into the wok.
Fry, stirring occasionally, until the tofu is golden on both sides. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels. Keep warm while frying the remaining tofu. Serves 4.

This composition doesn't really appeal to me, personally. The plate doesn't compliment the subject, IMO. the background shadow and that wet spot should have been cleaned up. I could do without the spoon.

I do like the exposure and the lighting.

nice composition, great choice of plate to offset the food. Like the lettuce leaf, helps pull it together. 7

Lighting isn't giving off any shadows or contrast therefore making this image look flat.

That tofu looks great but... I'm afraid that plate really, really detracts from it. I'd say presenting the beautiful bright tofu (and it's bed of bright green lettuce) on a plain white plate with perhaps a pair of plain black chopsticks or a very plainly designed spoon would work better than the plate and spoon used here.
