A variation on Salade Nicoise, the classic south of France summer salad with Tuna, green beans, hard-boiled eggs, and olives.
This particular salad consists of hearts of romaine, blanched string beans, thinly sliced Vidalia onions, quartered hard-boiled eggs, crumbled, canned albacore tuna in spring water, Nicoise olives (oil-cured olives), ripe grape tomatoes, feta cheese, fresh oregano leaves and fresh Italian parsley.
The dressing is a classic vinaigrette: soak 2 crushed garlic cloves in 1/4 cup good red wine vinegar for 30 minutes, then discard garlic. Add 1 Tbsp Dijon mustard to vinegar, then whisk while drizzling in 1/2 cup extra-virgin olive oil. Finish with freshly-cracked black pepper.
The salad bowl is hand-carved out of a single piece of olive wood. My mother bought it in Jerusalem in 1958, and it is one of my more treasured possessions.

Processing is very basic; opened with ACR, fiddled with highlights a little, opened in CS3, ran a smidge of shadow/highlight, resized, sharpened, border, save for web.

This looks like it would be good for you AND taste good - which somehow seems next to impossible. Except I've been to your house, so I do know that it's possible! Lovely salad, lovely shot of said salad. But I have to ask, do you discard just the crushed garlic, or the red wine vinegar and 30 minutes as well? (Ducking and running...)
Ohmygoodness! THIS is my favorite meal, prepared exactly how I love to eat my salads. It is making my mouth water, and I know what I am going to go get for lunch! THANKS!
Food presentation is wonderful - composition is great. Colors are superb and lighting really illuminates your subject well such that the viewer can fully appreciate/taste your salad. Focus is wonderful as well with many lovely details that can be seen in the eggs, tomatoes, and greens. Great job on this one 8.
