We didn't plan on going out tonight but had to go get woodchuck repellent for the garden until we can get a more permanent solution.

Of course I had my camera (pretty much always do) and we got a quick bite and figured it would be a good opportunity to try out the new toy. It was a bit after sunset and most of the people were walking back. A lady walking with a P&S decided to give me some advice. She said, "You should have been here earlier, you missed the sunset". She was right, and she also missed probably the best shooting of the evening.

Not my best edit, but I had problems with noise (software issue, not camera), PS crash, and I'm tired.

Wait! Is that a lighthouse? :o)

Absolutely gorgeous. I think we should be honored that you're posting it in our little side challenge (well your side, actually) and not in an official challenge. The light is to die for.

As Sarah down there mentioned - have you seen the nik silver??? It's the bomb! I must have it.

I love the colors, the water looks so soft, just beautiful.

btw, if you find a good way to get rid of woodchucks besides shooting them let me know :)

I have to agree - the subtle range of colours you capture, in each of these sunset lake shots, is just lovely. I'll have to learn HDR, to see how you do this. I'd love to see how your lake sunsets come out in print.

Another winner! Lovely as always. by the way, did you see the new B&W filters from Nik? I downloaded the trial last night. Loving it! Didn't really want to spend any more money on software, but really this is a nice package.
