It was either this or the bridge again, so I tried several pictures before I settled on this.

On our way to see The Lower Tahquamenon Falls I saw this tree and it immediately caught my eye. After shooting the falls in awful light (which is why they didn't look so hot), on the way back I stopped to photograph the tree. I couldn't get quite the angle I wanted due to a fence, and this isn't exactly how I pictured it at the time, but I like it turned out.

Just a side note: I thought I had bug spray evenly applied. The four mosquitoes deeply embedded in my leg thought otherwise. It was such a small area one slap and they all taken care of.

This has a nice soft feel to it. I don't mean it's out of focus or anything like that - not sure if I can explain exaclty what I do mean though!

I like the slight softness of this, and the colors are very pretty.

funny. I hate flying insects and I love walking in the woods/swamps year 'round. I carry a LARGE can of deet and apply it liberally... and I carry a mini-can to act as insect mace. Yellow jackets can be especially persistent.

And that beautiful monster was obviously felled. Whatever for?
