Yes...this is a real croc. No crop. Very little editing. I apologise if the bottom jaw is not in focus...she wouldn't listen to my directions very well. Yes I was down on the ground a few meters from her while her male was even closer to me.

You are one brave woman. I would have been too wimpy to even be 50 feet from her! Nevermind the TWO of them! This shot is awesome. Awesome clarity.

I personally like that the lower part of the mouth isnt fully in focus. I find that it brings in the focus to the main subject, which is its eyes, nose area and top teeth. There is no reason for it all to be in focus. Someone said something about the background being "Bland"...ummm, I think NOT. I love the background! The background is perfect for a shot like this. There is nothing to draw attention away. It all comes together very well. This shot looks like it should be in national geographic. You should submit it for the NG mag photo contest! I think this should have scored higher.

scary beast! I don't know if it is a real thing or not, the bland background definitely makes this photo less enjoyable...

Focus and tones are immaculate. Love the DOF and vignetting. Really an outstanding image!

Sorry, I had to laugh hard when I looked at your picture. It popped up immediately after a very small baby lying on a parent's arm. And then you rhead shot of a croc with it's mouth open. Too funny.
great details and good colors. Good job in separating the croc from the background.

Steve Irwin was a great Australian...

I like the image...it's nice and clear...the crop is a little tight along the bottom for me

I like the texture. I think (but not sure) that having the whole mouth in focus would improve the image overall (not voting).
