The girls are twins and are sisters of my girlfriend. We found a field of Indian paint brushes. The way I got light on the flower is that I used my flash turned it toward the ground and lit it up without touching the girls with the light.

Greetings from the CC, I respect that you created an artistic shot, the fill flash on the flower makes it pop, tho i wonder if you had taken a step backwards it may not have popped so much and created a more natural light? And may not of taken away from the focus point of the shot so much. Perhaps if the girls were bent down as if picking or smelling the flower it may have been more cohesive of a shot. i hope that you do not give up at trying to be creative, we need more of that on dpc just try to blend the elements of the shot as much as possible. My overall advice would be to have simplicity of subject.
hope it helps and happy shooting!

Interesting sillouettes; I think the flower in the foreground is an interesting idea but its so bright and dominent that it's distracting here. Gives it more of a montage feel.

That's an interesting effect with the flower, but I'm not sure it adds that much overall -- kind of distracts from the subject(s).

For the originality alone this should do well - 9

Interesting picture. The girls are almost in full silhouette but I'm not sure of the purpose of the big flower in the front of the picture. It become the main subject instead of the girls.

I'm curious to see how this was lit. The flower looks like a flash fired, but the girls don't... not that I'm a lighting expert.

This pic. sucks! It's not true silhouette and that flower is just too bright.

The red flower spoils it in my opinion.

The fact that the flower is lit from the front make this look very odd to me. That flower just looks out of place.

Different shot. I think the flower is a bit too centered for my taste and I don't see that it really adds much. Creative just the same. Good luck.

Does not need the Indian Paintbrush in the foreground - it detracts a lot. The upper bodies and hir is superb.

I like it but the posture of the model's bodies is concealing better shadows...the right model's right arm could be propped out for better effect.
