A graduated neutral density filter or a polarizing filter might help cut the glare on the water and the trees and help bring out the colors a little better.

maybe a crop out of teh trees above would hel pbring the attetnio more to the stream and fisher

All the horizontal lines (the alternating shadows and treeline) are sloping off towards the right. It makes me feel a little uneasy. I think level horizontals might have allowed the viewer to focus more on the angler.

Good idea, the shot however feels too "uneven", the top and bottom don't coexist well, the fisher is too small in the frame
