Northern Ireland is famous for its marching season, when thousands of orange men parade the streets to remember various historical events. Unfortunately, what could be a great cultural event and tourist attraction has often hit the press for all the wrong reasons. Some catholic communities don't want the protestant orange man to walk through their areas. Stupidity, stubborness, tradition, lack of common sense and failure to compromise on both sides has often led to tense stand offs and bloody riots.
The Ormeau Road in Belfast is a parade route, and this is where I shot this mural. It's not one of the more artistic paintings, but the message is large, bright and clear. Someone has also thrown concrete at the painting, adding to the effect in the photo.
