For those who asked:
1. The two-tone background doesn't 'signify' anything, I just wanted something other than just plain black and to perhaps show some depth. I can see how it might distract the eye.
2. The pig is really that color. I didn't adjust the hue or saturation at all.
3. The "nothing to compare proportion to" comments puzzled me a bit because I was using the pig as a stand alone comparision. The stubby little legs and the really round tummy with the tiny little head smacked of comic proportions to me straight off. However, I understand that a lot of people were looking for side-by-side items to show proportions between two items.
4. Thanks to everyone who made a comment!

Well, my favourite comment is "there is nothing to compare it too". Amazing. The head is disproportionate, the legs are disproportionate to the body, and I don't need a penny next to the toy to get the idea that it's substantially smaller than an actual pig. Plus, it's very crisp and the mixture of pink and purple with the black and white background is very arty. Bravo! (applauds by tapping fingertips of right hand on flat of left palm)

I like the picture and how the bright colors on the pig draw the viewer's attention. Good composition, but it's not my idea of proportion.

Great color, but what does the two tone background signify? I think cropping inside the dark region would have been stronger.

This is cute. I'm a bit distracted by the horizon line. Great idea though and nice colours.

Very fun shot. How much did you have to adjust the hue to make it stand out?

You have nothing to compare proportionality to.
