Wow, really, really happy to get a ribbon for this.

I had my car with me in the city and my tripod inside so I figured I'd go drive around NYC around 1 a.m. just because I never get to do so. Set it up in Times Square, which is surprisingly busy even on random nights. I chose this image b/c somehow some of the people were frozen while the cars were blurred, I liked the energy.

Post-Processing: Shadow/Highlight work to tone down the bright lights and get some more contrast. I had to crop it very tight top to bottom b/c there wasn't much of interest in those areas. I really like the wide-angle look it gave. Then just some curves, resize, USM, s4w.

Thank you for all the votes and comments and faves, it was a complete surprise to see this do well.

Great shot m8. Wondering around the city at 1am ;). You know how we can usually do things others wouldn't like wake up much too early to get a shot or even trespass... all marks of a true photog. I also really like the inclusion of the kodak screen there.

I don't think the border matches the picture and it's a bit bold but the picture itself is very strong and good. Congrats getting the red.

Let's see, you're driving around Times Square at 01:00AM with camera and tripod and you want to know if it is safe to shoot where? LOL! Anyway it's a super image and I would love to see a larger version if you got one on line somewhere. Very vibrant for a black white...the colors must have been awesome! Glad to see you got the Kodak display in....wonder who was POTD that day? Big congrats on your red, Adam!

Well, the square is colourful. Photo is good and very busy, which also portrays colour and movement.
Not sure that the wide black border top and bottom quite works.
