This is a very nice shot and has a lot going for it, including the lighting, unique angle and the pose. However, the focus is a tad soft, and needs to be tack sharp on portraits (unless it is intentionally out of focus). The eye is the focal point and it is blurry. And I think it is a bit overexposed on the face, even given the "high-key" feel. Finally, I think the photo could be improved with a contrast boost. In remedying the exposure/contrast aspects of this image, you may need to do some form of selective adjustments on the left vs. the right side of the face because of the difference in values on either side. Hope all these comments don't come off as too negative, I just really like the shot and thought I would offer some criticism |

I like the lighting in this, although it is a tad overexposed on the window side. It would have been much more effective as a vertical crop so her head was not cut off and there would not be all the empty space on the sides that does nothing for the image at all except fight for the viewers attention.
Darn..if this shot was just of her with taht expression and lighting without the extra large space at the sides and with all of her head this would have been an amazing capture. |

Nice soft, even lighting. Seems a little more like a candid than a studio shot. I think I'd like it better if you cropped off more of the left side blur. |

You're probably bonne get told this isn't a studio shot. Probably isn't. But you have really done a nice job capturing innocence in this shot in my opinion. I really quite like it. |

The subject is beautiful but the background ruins it for me. |

This is a nice shot. While distracting at first, the out of focus object on the viewer's left (door?) seems to give the photo a sense of candidness. The ceiling lights, however are just distracting. I'd love to see this shot, done again, with a more "flat" background. |

Surprise shots often turn out very badly. This one is nice, I like it a lot. Good job. I love the use of DOF here as well. |

Since this is a portrait, I would prefer for her whole head to be in the shot. Beautiful expression! |
