Way too out of Focus and Noisy for my liking. WOuld have prefered it to be sharp, as that would have got a much higher vote

I see what your going for, nice idea. I think going in a diff. direction by using a sharper shot and using gaussian blur/sharpening tech. to get the effect....imo

dreaming, or hallucinating?

I'm not sure if the blurriness here was intentional to create a dreamy mood, but I'm afraid it's not working for me.

Maybe just my personal taste, but I would have liked the fire to be soft focus and the child less so.

This is a nicely composed shot but I'd really like to see the little boy be more in focus rather than the flames.

You captured the flames nicely, but the lighting on the rest of the shot is unappealing. Soft focus instead of blur might have worked better.

I hope you aren't just going for the brown ribbon here because this is a serious comment. Your image is blurry. Try using either a tripod for long exposure or a flash so you can speed up your shutter. Your colour is way off. WB to tungsten or fluorescent indoors (depending on what kind of light you use). Your focus is way soft. Your fire looks neat but only serves, in this image, to distract from the subject (PJs).
